Terms of Use
These terms govern use of the DA Managed IT educational website at https://aftrim.com/. They are not a managed-services agreement and not a quote for IT work.

Introduction
These Terms of Use apply to the public website at https://aftrim.com/, including the learning topics and the pages that describe the project. They sit alongside the privacy policy and the cookie policy.
If a workplace policy, a vendor licence, or a statute that cannot be varied says something different from a sentence here, that other rule still applies.
About DA Managed IT
DA Managed IT publishes independent educational material under the title Business IT Guides & Workplace Technology Learning. The audience is people who work in small and mid-sized workplaces and want a clearer picture of computers, networks, Microsoft 365, cloud systems, backup, and everyday security habits.
The website does not sell managed IT services, remote administration, custom setup, infrastructure management, service contracts, on-site technicians, or computer repair. A message about a guide is not an engagement of that kind.
Acceptance of Terms
By using this website, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the site.
If you use the site as an individual in a situation that Canadian consumer-protection law covers, rights that the law does not allow you to give up remain in place.
Educational Purpose
The pages are study material. They explain ideas, show examples, list steps a reader may take on a system they already have permission to use, and point out common mistakes. They are not professional advice for a named organisation, not a configuration service, and not official documentation from any software vendor.
If a published instruction is unclear, you may write to [email protected]. Help of that kind, if it is given, is an explanation of the reading material. It is not remote access, device repair, or administration of a corporate system, and it is not a promised reply time.
Use of Learning Materials
You may read the guides, share links to them, and keep a copy for your own study or for internal discussion at a workplace that already has the right to use the systems being discussed.
You may not present the pages as your own commercial product, scrape the site in a way that interferes with other readers, or use the material to build instructions for attacking a system or bypassing an access control.
Accuracy and Updates
Software, menus, and default settings change. A step that was accurate when a page was written may not match the screen in front of you. Treat vendor documentation and your organisation’s own rules as the living source when they disagree with a guide.
We may update, reorganise, or withdraw pages. The date on a legal page is the date of that document. Learning topics may be revised without a public changelog.
Technical Guidance and Limitations
Several guides discuss Windows, Microsoft 365, Azure, office networks, backup copies, and security habits. Those names describe products and practices that workplaces already use. Following a step can still affect a live system: an account, a shared library, a router, or a mailbox.
Do not change a setting you do not control. Do not follow a step that would break a workplace rule, a licence, or the law. The guides do not cover industrial control systems, medical devices, or emergency dispatch, and they do not include repair of hardware.
Nothing on the site is a promise that a particular system will stay available, that data will be recoverable, or that an incident will be prevented.
User Responsibilities
You are responsible for how you use what you read, including changes you make on systems you are allowed to administer. You are also responsible for the content of messages you send to the published addresses.
Do not send passwords, payment numbers, or other people’s files. Do not use the site or the mail addresses to harass anyone, to attempt unauthorised access, or to interfere with the host.
Intellectual Property
Unless a caption or credit says otherwise, DA Managed IT owns the text, layout, and original graphics of this website. Photographs are used because they illustrate ordinary workplaces; they are stock images, not pictures of DA Managed IT staff, unless a caption says so.
You do not acquire ownership of the site by reading it or by linking to it.
Permitted Use
Permitted use includes reading, linking, quoting short passages with credit, and printing a page for personal or internal workplace study.
Permitted use does not include removing notices, mirroring the site as a competing publication, or using the content to train a commercial product in a way that replaces this website, if that use is not allowed by law.
Prohibited Activities
You may not attempt to probe or disrupt the host, to inject malicious code, to harvest addresses from the pages beyond ordinary reading, or to impersonate DA Managed IT.
You may not use the guides as a playbook for unauthorised access, fraud, or damage to another person’s system.
Third-Party Products and Trademarks
Microsoft, Windows, Microsoft 365, Azure, Teams, OneDrive, SharePoint, Outlook, and related names are trademarks or product names of Microsoft or its group companies. Other product names belong to their owners.
DA Managed IT is an independent educational publisher. The site is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Microsoft, and it is not a Microsoft partner listing, a place to buy licences, or a channel for official Microsoft support. Vendor terms apply when you use those products.
External Links
If a page points outside https://aftrim.com/, that destination has its own terms and privacy practices. A link is not an endorsement, and we are not responsible for a third-party site’s content or availability.
Availability of the Website
We aim to keep the site readable, but we do not offer an uptime commitment. Hosting, domain, or network problems can interrupt access. An interruption of this website is not an interruption of any separate contract you may have with someone else, and it is not a service credit.
Disclaimer of Warranties
The website and the guides are provided as educational reading. To the extent permitted by applicable law, DA Managed IT does not warrant that a page is complete, current, or suitable for a particular workplace, or that the site will be uninterrupted or free of defects.
Nothing in these terms excludes a warranty or condition that Alberta or Canadian law does not allow to be excluded.
Limitation of Liability
To the extent permitted by applicable law, DA Managed IT is not liable for loss that arises only from reading or relying on these pages, including loss of data, business interruption, or the cost of a change you make to a live system.
This limit does not apply to liability that the laws of Alberta or Canada do not allow to be limited, including liability for fraud or for death or personal injury caused by negligence where that rule applies. It is not a waiver of rights you cannot waive.
Changes to the Website
We may add topics, edit examples, change contact details that have been confirmed, or adjust how the pages are organised. Continuing to use the site after a change to the public pages means you are using the site as it then stands.
Changes to These Terms
We may replace these terms with a new version at this address. The date at the top of the page is the date of this version. If a change is material, the new text will be published here before we rely on it.
Applicable Law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Alberta and the federal laws of Canada that apply in Alberta, without applying conflict-of-law rules that would point to another law.
If a dispute about these terms is brought in court, we expect it to be heard by a court of competent jurisdiction in Alberta, unless a law that cannot be varied requires another forum.
Contact Information
Questions about these terms should be sent to [email protected]. Questions about how to follow a published guide should be sent to [email protected].
This version of the site does not offer a contact form. Email to the published addresses is the written channel.
